THANK YOU HABITATE FOR HUMANITY WORKERS

Before sunrise on January 25th and 26, 25 brave souls (the temperature was in the teens) set out for Burtonsville to work on a 12-unit Habitat for Humanity town home project.  Some of our GPC carpenters hammered nails, sawed wood and installed box frames for heating ducts.  Others hung dry-wall, drilled holes in concrete for anchor bolts, installed insulation for noise and firewall protection or moved materials around to provide supplies to the three or four work crews.  No one complained of the inclement weather because they were working so hard and were warmed to see their labors create a home for a family in need.

The Witness Ministry sends a grateful thank you to our GPC carpenters,  Betty Harris, Maxine Counihan, Jay & Jennifer Lu, Doug MacLean, Dave & Patrica Martinsen, Ruth Ault, Sandy & James Menzies, Kathy Budd, Amy Jackson, Carol Anderson, Bob Beard, Mary & Bob Wasik, Kristie Jones, Rachel Simko, Nick Wilson, Connie Brown, Jan Rex, Titi Lyun, Laurie Riddell; and last, but certainly not least, we thank Jerry and Elly Cleaver who generously volunteer their time and energy to arrange the work parties, act as liaison between GPC and Habitat and when the day arrives pick up a hammer and become one of our carpenters.

Another outing is planned for mid May, so look for further information in the Sunday Bulletins, the Mainstream and the GPC web site, gpchurch.org.
