Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

The Witness Ministry leads our congregation in a coordinated effort to share in meeting the needs of those in our community, our nation and the world. Specifically the Ministry is responsible for seeking out mission activities and charitable programs, administration of a significant budget to aid these activities and programs, and for encouraging the congregation to participate with donations and/or as volunteers

Locally we provide fourteen various programs with financial support, volunteer assistance, and gifts of needed supplies including the Lord’s Table, the Dwelling Place, So Others May Eat (SOME), Habitat for Humanity and The Robin’s Nest, a Christian maternity house that provides women a safe and loving place to stay while awaiting the birth of their children.

We directly support missionaries in Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador, Russia and Dallas, Texas.  In partnership with the Presbyterian Church (USA) we also support other missionaries throughout the world.  The Ministry aids two members of our congregation in special projects that provide needed funds, clothing, computers and household items to Ghana and Malawi. The GPC congregation helps to make this special project possible with monetary and material donations. In addition to Habitat for Humanity we have another project that will certainly add to your carpentry skills. To date we have sent five groups of Gulf Disaster Relief Workers to areas obliterated by Katrina to help the residents of Mississippi and Louisiana rebuild their ravaged homes. The generous and energetic GPC souls, who pay all their expenses, learn something new every time they travel to that area. We have a sixth group scheduled for March.

You do not have to be an elder to attend Witness Ministry meetings. All are welcome. We are constantly in need of new ideas and volunteers.
