THE DWELLING PLACE is a Montgomery Country program to provide homeless families a place to live for up to 2 years.  GPC has for a number of years supported this program by frunishing an apartment for the family. 

Interested in making friends with a family in our neighborhood from Congo?  Community Ministry of Montgomery County has asked GPC to join its Friends in Action program, becoming friends and mentors for a family of 7 from Congo (Mom, Dad, daughters aged 10, 13, and 15, and sons aged 4 months and 5 yrs) who live just a few blocks from GPC, on W Deer Park.  Witness Ministry is looking for 5 - 10 GPC-ers to become friends with this family, and to help them during the next year with basic life skills (such as English, financial planning, tuitoring, accessing county services) and  other needs that may arise.
Please attend the organizational/training session will be held at GPC on Thursday Nov 9 at 7:30 pm. 

Community Based Shelter (CBS)  Our church will once again be providing dinners for the homeless shelter from Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve.  There are many opportunities to serve in this most important Christmas gift.  The sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex throughout December.

SOME - So Others May Eat   A group from GPC leaves the church at 5:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month to make breakfast for about 500 men and women in Washington D.C.  If you are interested, please contact the office for more information.  Come once or as often as you like.
