Christian Education
The Teaching ministry

What a wonderful year we have had in Sunday School.

I am so proud of all the children and their accomplishments and growth. Some have grown personally with their relationships with Christ, some with their relationships with others and many have grown by looking at old stories in new ways.

The Nurture committee and the children’s steering committee thank all the wonderful teachers who have helped our children grow. GPC teachers are an incredible team of devoted people reaching out to the children to share what they know and then growing themselves along the way!

We are grateful to have with us 47 teachers and coordinators for children’s Sunday School. Can you believe the numbers on this team! They are incredible people, so willing to play an active role in nurturing the GPC kids.

I also want to thank my husband, for being so incredibly supportive and for being Mr. Ralph, the Sunday School worship coordinator the kids adore…

Welcome

Visitors are always welcome.

If you are visiting the church on Sundays, please see someone at the yellow desk downstairs who can help you find the class where your child belongs.

News on upcoming volunteer opportunities and events:
There are lots of opportunities available to positively affect the lives of our children and their families.

Summer Sunday School, June 8 through August 17
  • Older 2’s, 3’s (9:30 a.m.) Please sign up to teach class one Sunday out of the summer. If all the parents share the responsibility, all the children can be cared for. Please call me to sign up for a date or two. Curriculum will be provided. It uses an easy pull-out-and-do format.
  • Bridges to worship, 4 and 5 year olds (9:30 a.m.) We still need more doorkeepers and storytellers to share the news of the Bible through great stories. If you are interested, please contact Tom and Betsey Bahls to take a turn.
  • 1st through 5th graders (9:30 a.m.) Sign up to teach a class one Sunday out of the summer. This will be a one-room Sunday School format. Curriculum is provided. Families are invited to teach as a unit. If interested, please contact Francie Maloney to sign up for a turn.

VIPS please consider teaching. We would love to have you on the team.
