Adult Education February Lecture Series

Every winter Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church brings in special speakers, or uses our pastors, for four Sundays in February to enlighten, renew, and revive our spiritual lives.  Hence the name “February” Lecture Series or FLS.  The series offers educational opportunities beyond traditional classes and is open to the public.  A free will offering helps to financially support our efforts as well as monies from The Gene Johnson Fund For Adult Education And Witness.  Click here for Fund details.

 

We have had a great variety of spiritually and intellectually challenging topics: 

• “Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People” by GPC Senior Pastor (Interim), Rev. Kenneth W. Eimer.  

• "Jesus at the Movies" by Rev. Eunice "Junior" McGarrahan of the National Presbyterian Church. 

• "Peace, Unity, and Purity in the Church" Presbyterian Task Force recommendations presented by Rev. Dr. Gregory D. Seckman, Senior Pastor at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Missouri, and former Senior Pastor of Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. 

• "Justice and Peace: Possibilities for the Middle East" panel discussions led by Rev. Dr. Gregory D. Seckman. 

• "TOWARD A 21^st CENTURY FAITH: In Search of a Faith that is Theologically Faithful, Scientifically Credible, and Practically Effective" by Rev. Dr. James B. Miller, Senior Program Associate, American Association for the Advancement of Science. 

• The “End Times” by Rev. Dr. Craig C. Hill, Professor of New Testament at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
