Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People

This year's February Lecture Series was about:

Do you attend worship to feel inspired and hopeful or is worship more of an educational experience where you play with new ideas during the week?  Is worship a feeling experience or an intellectual one?  Or is it both?

It should be both but we need to add one critical element.  Careful reading of Scripture reveals that the most important reason to attend worship is behavioral change.

To find out why, come to our February Lecture Series led by our Interim Senior Pastor, Rev. Ken Eimer.  He will use a variety of learning formats including lecture, visual media and group discussion to explore people’s growing interest in the practice of Christianity or what is often referred to as spiritual formation.

The ‘text’ for the class is “Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People,” a video featuring John and Nancy Ortberg.  John Ortberg is the Senior Pastor of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, California.  Both he and Nancy previously served at Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois before moving to California.
