THE GENE JOHNSON FUND

THE GENE JOHNSON FUND FOR ADULT EDUCATION AND WITNESS

...was established through the Presbyterian Foundation in August 2008 to honor the memory and love for learning that Eugene Johnson demonstrated his entire life.

A long-time member of GPC, Gene brought warmth, kindness and enlightenment to all he met. Professionally Gene was a civil engineer but he bore a deep imprint of Presbyterianism! As a child he recited the Westminster Catechism! As an adult, he served as: Deacon, twice an Elder, Clerk of Session, twice as Pastor Nominating Committee Chair, president of the PreSchool Board, Sunday School teacher, faithful Sunday School attendant, and as a Bible student. He loved GPC.

The Fund's primary purpose is to support the February Lecture Series. Its secondary purpose is to support Adult Ed weekend conferences, retreats and other appropriate events. Remaining funds will be given to the Witness ministry to be used as the Spirit guides.

FUND GROWTH:

The Gene Johnson Fund is a permanent endowment fund and will provide a perpetual stream of income to GPC’s Adult Education program and GPC’s Witness ministry while preserving the long-term purchasing power of the Fund.

Additions to the fund are accepted from anyone wishing to contribute to the growth of the fund by completing the Presbyterian Foundation additional gift form and submitting it to them with the gift.
