Children’s Sunday School

We understand that each family must make decisions based on their particular circumstances, as a result we offer Sunday School in person, via Zoom as well as a recorded version available on our Google classroom site. The password for that site is available to children registered in Sunday School through the church office.

Children’s Ministry Offerings

We welcome all families of all ages. Each Sunday families begin the worship hour together in the Sanctuary. Though we have a  staffedNursery for the youngest members of our church, they are most welcome to stay with their families in the Sanctuary, in fact we have an area called the Pray-ground especially to accommodate them.  The first Sunday of each month, and any Sunday that includes a school holiday, everyone stays together throughout the service. Children, as experiential learners, need to spend time in worship soaking up the sights, sounds and patterns of the church service and church year. The other Sundays before the sermon begins, the Children and Youth will be excused for Children and Youth Group. The 9:30 Children’s Group will be finished at 10:30, and the 11:00 Children’s Group will be finished at noon. The Children must be picked up by a parent in Room 30/31 or 32/33 and signed out

9:30 AM: Godly Play – Rooms 30 & 31 and outside, weather permitting

As mentioned above, children always begin in the Sanctuary with their families and are then excused. Godly Play is an introduction to worship for young children where they hear and see scripture and, with the help of a storyteller, interpret the scripture verbally and tactilely. Over course of the year they will be introduced to the foundational stories of our faith in both the Old and New Testament as well as some liturgical education.

11:00 AM: Follow Me – Rooms 32 & 33

The Follow Me is a church wide curriculum which includes sermons as well as intergenerational church wide events. Rather than a book study or a survey course of foundational biblical stories, Follow Me uncovers Christian Practices essential to our faith, illustrates them with stories from the Old and New Testament, and provides practical application for the practices in our lived lives as well as wonderful opportunities for intergenerational events each quarter.
